“bayanihan linux 5 is ready!” this was latest news in inquirer’s infotech today, hmmm…
i did some research and found out that manila times has reported this as early as may ’08. tried to check bayanihan’s site and found it it’s still promoting version 4. so i’m wondering why the delay???
just the same this is a surprise to me, i wasn’t aware that such product exist! so i tried digging around and found out that bayanihan linux was a project initiated by the Advanced Science & Tech Inst of the Dept. of Science & Tech (ASTI-DOST) as early as 2001.
it is hoped that bayanihan linux would be a good alternative desktop solution for IT PINOYS.
