been offline and really busy lately, this tech story however steered me up!
you may have already read of an ABC anchor who tweeted that US Pres. Obama called Kanye West a “jackass,” well the organization has apologized for this action.
“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.” said ABC News.
this also reminded me that perhaps etiquette really hasn’t caught up much with technology. we should be really be thinking before we tweet or share anything that really needs to be kept private – esp in this age of microblogging/social networks where almost everything is made public.
found this short and interesting blog by Loren Preston, that’s worth reading.
