IT Pinoys in the Philippine government offices wouldn’t like this news that Marikina Rep. Romero Federico Quimbo recently filed House Resolution 184, which seeks to regulate internet access.
“…unabated and unregulated use of the Internet by government officials and employees during office hours adversely affects their productivity and the quality of service they provide.” Quimbo said.
he also added that controlling the use of internet (particularly social networks such as Facebook) will help the government trim down its expenditures on electricity. he claimed that the PAG-IBIG (where he previously served as president) increased its profit from P2.7bil in 2001 to P9.8bil in 2009 when they regulated internet usage.
