Twitmusic, a social music sharing service initially developed in Manila, has been included in 500 Startups – a Silicon Valley based program providing early-stage companies with funding via seed investments and mentoring.
Twitmusic – launched in October 2011 is a service allowing recording (or budding) artists to share their music via Twitter in real time. fans on the other hand can now freely listen, download and quickly share the music on their websites.
Stefano Fazzini co-founder of Twitmusic confirms with us the dev started in Manila, “@pilipinasit Thanks! Yep, we started it in the PH. We just left 2 weeks ago for the 500 Startups program :)”
500 Startups provide $10K-$250K worth of seed investments, an accelerator program, new micro-fund models like the Twilio Fund with 160 experienced startup mentors around the world, a creative work space (in the heart of Silicon Valley), and a vibrant community of startup founders. Their goal is to help companies succeed in ways other venture firms do not (offer).
good luck to Twitmusic and may this inspire more start-up IT companies in the Philippines.
