I’ve heard bits of their story from past, i knew it would be heartbreakingly beautiful when Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story came into Netflix.. and i was right.
He (King George III) knew he was broken and believed he would just be a burden, nobody would ever love him, and join in his journey with his demons.. he succumbs to the darkness all with the heavens intertwined. his solace was under the bed where he could “hide from the heavens and the stars”
But there was Charlotte, his Queen. the one his heart calls for.
The dance scene to “Nobody Gets Me” was a sweet journey of pain, doubt, then a realization for both King George III and Queen Charlotte. Together they are stronger. A mad King have found his one true north and a Queen could defy the heavens and the earth to love him, to be his strength – his forever happiness.
True history —
Queen Charlotte was wife to King George III shared a happy life together with their 15 children, up until the last decade of King George’s reign when his mental illness incapacitated him. Charlotte remained steadfast and loyal to her husband until her own death in 1818. Over a year later, King George III died blind, deaf, with dementia.
