NetWitness reported that around 75000 computers in 2500 companies around the world have been infected by a new virus known as Kneber Botnet.
first detected last month by NetWitness (a security researcher company), the malware is said to gather login infos from online systems such as financial and social networking sites like Facebook.
“Disturbingly, the data was only a one-month snapshot of data from a campaign that has been in operation for more than a year,” NetWitness said in a statement announcing the discovery of the botnet late yesterday.
