Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has just partnered with software giant Microsoft and ride the Cloud Computing bandwagon by offering services to it’s consumers via cloud.
“Hopefully as we transcend through the future, we may be able to come up with more pervasive value-laden propositions across markets,” PLDT head of consumer sales and marketing group Ernesto Alberto said.
the company’s ePLDT unit is “developing a grand cloud strategy,” which headlines its business offerings in the next few years.
Cloud Computing in fact represents several components (service, infrastracture, data, programs) virtually and that whatever happens inside the cloud is abstracted to us the users.
also included in the new partnership is Dimension Data, which will handle support and infrastructure.
