the information technology industry mourns today as one of the world’s greatest innovators, Steve Jobs finally lost his battle against cancer @ age 56.
the world bit the apple
many, especially the younger PINOY generation probably just remember Steve as the guy holding that Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod. but to the tech world, he was more.
from his humble beginnings in 1976, 16yr-old Steve helped start Apple and created the first personal computer. barely after releasing Macintosh in 1985, Steve was unfortunately fired where he later claimed,
following that year he started NeXt Computer and bought Lucas Films’ Pixar. in 1996, Apple bought NeXt and Steve rejoins the company he built. in 2001 the first iPod came out. by 2007, Apple ventured on mobile devices hence the birth of iPhones. the first iPad arrived on 2010.
as early as mid-2004, Steve has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his pancreas, he later on recovered from this. on january 2011 he officially filed a medical leave of absence and in august 2011, he resigned as the CEO of Apple.
much has been said about Steve’s aggressive and temperamental management style, but one thing is for sure, Steve always aspired to position Apple and its products @ the forefront of information technology industry by foreseeing and setting trends, at least in innovation and style.
